Designed as both a home and photo studio, this modern ADU in Dekalb offers the perfect blank slate for creativity to thrive. Clean lines, expansive natural light, and an open layout provide a flexible, inspiring environment—ideal for both daily living and artistic work.

The dramatic shed roof design presented both opportunities and technical challenges that our team navigated with precision. Inside, we balanced modern aesthetics with practical functionality.

We constructed the expansive shed roof with tongue and groove pine soffit, meticulously stained to enhance the natural wood grain while providing a warm contrast to the modern exterior
The building envelope was meticulously sealed and insulated to ensure energy efficiency despite the generous glazing and ceiling height
The polished concrete floors represent one of the project's most striking features—a beautiful example of how structural elements can serve as finished surfaces.
